Peter Wilson was Director of Projects for Tate until 2005. There he acquired considerable knowledge of the historical development of Millbank and of Bankside. His projects included Tate Modern and the Tate Britain Centenary Development, each of which involved creating open spaces by the Thames.
For over twenty years his journey to work involved walking across or by the Thames. He is now directing the RSC's theatres transformation in Stratford-upon-Avon and undertakes occasional museum consultancy for Lord Cultural Resources .
